Privacy policy
Last updated 5 July 2026
This policy explains what data The New Gulf Playbook collects, why, and how it is handled. It applies to visitors reading the site and to contributors using the contributor studio.
Reading the site
The published site is static and does not require an account. We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies to read articles.
Contributor accounts
To contribute, you sign in with Google. We receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google to create your contributor profile. Your profile, article drafts, and uploaded material are stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Cloud Storage) under your account.
Published content
When you approve an article for publication, its content and your public byline details — name, role, biography, and any links or portrait you provide — become part of the public site. Draft conversations and private notes are not published.
AI processing
To develop drafts, the text and images you share are sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) for processing. Do not submit confidential or personal information you would not want processed this way.
Your choices
You can edit your profile, delete individual article projects, or retract published articles from the contributor studio. To request full deletion of your account and associated data, contact us.
